If you purchase a CartoReel product or Service, payment information may be processed by a third-party payment provider. CartoReel generally does not need to receive or store your complete payment card number.
We may receive transaction information such as payment status, transaction identifiers, purchase amount, billing information, and limited payment details necessary to administer your purchase, provide support, prevent fraud, and maintain business records.

Third-party service providers may also use similar technologies in connection with services they provide to CartoReel. Depending on your location, you may have choices regarding certain cookies and tracking technologies.
3. How We Use Your Information
We may use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Receive, store, process, analyze, transform, and render photographs and other Uploaded Media.

4. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Processing
CartoReel uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, automated image analysis, and related technologies as part of its Services.
Depending on the Services you use, your Uploaded Media may be automatically analyzed to identify characteristics such as locations, landmarks, people, buildings, nature, water, cityscapes, pets, and other elements.
This analysis may be used to determine how your Uploaded Media should be arranged, animated, transformed, or incorporated into your reel.
AI and automated technologies may also be used to generate titles, scene classifications, visual effects, camera movements, transitions, animations, geographic effects, and other generated elements.
AI visual effects applied to photographs are optional. When you choose to turn off AI visual effects, your original uploaded photos are used directly without AI visual transformation, while automated intelligence features such as location identification, mapping, routes, and captions remain active.
AI-generated results may be inaccurate, incomplete, unexpected, or different from what you intended. CartoReel does not guarantee that generated content will accurately represent a person, place, event, object, or other subject.
Because artificial intelligence systems can produce similar or substantially similar results for different users, CartoReel does not guarantee that generated content will be unique.
5. How We Process Uploaded Media
When you upload photographs or other media, you authorize CartoReel and the service providers that support the Services to access, copy, store, transmit, analyze, modify, adapt, transform, reproduce, and otherwise process that media as reasonably necessary to provide the Services you request.
This processing may include sending your Uploaded Media to third-party infrastructure, cloud computing providers, artificial intelligence providers, image and video processing services, mapping providers, storage providers, email providers, analytics providers, payment processors, and other technology providers that help us operate CartoReel.
We may create temporary copies, intermediate files, thumbnails, extracted metadata, processed images, video segments, rendered frames, technical logs, and other derivative processing artifacts as necessary to operate the Services.
These processing artifacts may exist separately from the original Uploaded Media and may be retained for limited or longer periods as reasonably necessary for processing, security, debugging, fraud prevention, compliance, service operation, or other legitimate business purposes.
6. Your Content and Our License to Process It
You retain ownership of your photographs, videos, and other content and Uploaded Media that you upload to CartoReel, subject to any rights of third parties that may exist in such content.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy transfers ownership of your original content to CartoReel.
However, in order to provide the Services, you grant CartoReel and its service providers a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable, limited license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, access, modify, adapt, process, analyze, transform, display, and otherwise use your Uploaded Media solely as reasonably necessary to provide, operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services and to comply with our legal obligations.
This license includes the right to create technical and processing derivatives of your content, including thumbnails, resized images, extracted metadata, intermediate video files, rendered frames, previews, and other temporary or permanent processing artifacts.
You represent and warrant that you have all rights, licenses, permissions, and consents necessary to provide your content and Uploaded Media to CartoReel and to authorize the processing described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
7. Photos Containing Other People
Photographs uploaded to CartoReel may contain identifiable individuals. CartoReel does not require you to identify every person appearing in a photograph in order to process the photograph.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of CartoReel and your submission of photographs and Uploaded Media containing other individuals complies with applicable law and does not violate the privacy, publicity, copyright, or other rights of those individuals.
CartoReel may use automated image analysis to determine characteristics of photographs and Uploaded Media for the purpose of providing the requested Services. We do not intend to use facial recognition to identify individuals by name unless a particular feature explicitly states otherwise.
8. Location and EXIF Metadata
Photographs and Uploaded Media may contain embedded metadata, including GPS coordinates, dates, times, camera information, device orientation, altitude, and other EXIF information.
Where available and relevant to the Services, CartoReel may extract and process this metadata to determine where and when a photograph or Uploaded Media was created, identify destinations, generate geographic information, construct travel routes, create 3D globe and map animations, and provide contextual information for your reel.
If you manually select a location using CartoReel's map picker, that location may also be associated with the relevant photograph or reel and processed for the same purposes.
By uploading a photograph or Uploaded Media containing location metadata, you understand that such information may be processed as part of generating your reel.
9. Generated Content
CartoReel may generate videos, images, animations, maps, transitions, captions, descriptions, thumbnails, geographic visualizations, and other content based on your Uploaded Media, submissions and information processed through the Services.
Generated content may incorporate elements derived from your uploaded content, geographic information, mapping data, automated analysis, artificial intelligence systems, third-party technologies, and other sources.
CartoReel may retain generated content and related processing information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, deliver your reel, maintain service functionality, address support requests, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, or otherwise operate the business.
Your rights to generated content, including any limitations imposed by third-party technologies, are governed by our Terms of Service and any applicable third-party terms.
10. Third-Party Service Providers

The specific third-party providers used by CartoReel may change over time as our Services, infrastructure, and technology requirements evolve. We may also add or replace providers as necessary to support new features, improve performance, manage costs, or maintain the reliability and security of the Services.
These providers may process information on our behalf and may have their own privacy policies, terms, and contractual obligations. We seek to use service providers that are appropriate for the functions they perform, but we cannot guarantee the security, availability, or privacy practices of independent third parties.
11. Sharing Information
We do not sell your Uploaded Media or generated reels as standalone personal information.
We may disclose information to the following categories of recipients where reasonably necessary:

12. Service Improvement and Analytics
We may collect and analyze information about how users interact with CartoReel to understand usage patterns, diagnose problems, measure performance, improve existing features, and develop new products and Services.
This may include information about feature usage, processing times, errors, device information, browser information, workflow events, performance metrics, and other technical or usage information.
Unless separately disclosed to you or permitted by applicable law, we do not represent that we will use your Uploaded Media as generalized training data for unrelated third-party AI models.
We may, however, use aggregated, anonymized, de-identified, or technical information derived from operation of the Services to understand and improve CartoReel, including our algorithms, workflows, infrastructure, rendering systems, and automated processes.
13. Marketing Communications

Marketing communications are optional. You may unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe mechanism included in those communications or by contacting us.
Marketing preferences may be stored separately from your acceptance of our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Choosing not to receive marketing communications does not prevent us from sending transactional or service-related communications that are necessary to provide the Services.
14. Email Addresses and Returning Users
CartoReel may use your email address to associate requests, generated reels, processing status, purchases, preferences, and other Service activity with you.
If you previously used CartoReel, we may recognize your email address when you return so that we can provide a more convenient experience, retrieve relevant Service information, prevent duplicate records, and apply previously established preferences where permitted by law.
We will not treat your email address alone as consent to receive optional marketing communications where applicable law requires separate consent.
15. Payment Information
If you purchase a CartoReel product or Service, payment information may be processed by third-party payment providers.
CartoReel generally does not need to receive or store your complete payment card number. Payment providers may collect and process payment information in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms.
We may receive information such as transaction identifiers, payment status, billing country, transaction amount, and limited payment details necessary to administer purchases and customer support.
16. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, maintain business and transaction records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect our legal rights.
Uploaded photographs, intermediate processing files, generated reels, metadata, and other content may be retained for different periods depending on how the Services are designed and the reason the information is retained.
We may automatically delete temporary files and processing artifacts when they are no longer reasonably required.
If you request deletion of your photographs or generated reels, we will take reasonable steps to process the request, subject to applicable law and legitimate operational, security, backup, dispute-resolution, and record-keeping requirements.
Deletion may not immediately remove information from backups, disaster recovery systems, security logs, legal records, or systems operated by third-party service providers. Such information may remain until it is overwritten, expires, or can be deleted in accordance with applicable retention procedures.
17. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, destruction, and loss.
Depending on the nature of the information and the Services, security measures may include encryption in transit, access-controlled cloud storage, authentication mechanisms, access controls, logging, monitoring, isolated processing environments, secure cloud infrastructure, and other industry-standard practices.
However, no method of transmitting or storing information over the Internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that your information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, lost, or destroyed as a result of circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Depending on the circumstances, these rights may include the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, request access to specific information, request deletion, request correction, opt out of certain forms of sharing or processing, and receive equal service regardless of exercising applicable privacy rights.
We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense of exchanging personal information for monetary consideration. We may, however, use third-party analytics, advertising, or technology services that could be considered "sharing" or "selling" under certain privacy laws. Where required, we will provide applicable opt-out mechanisms.
21. European Economic Area and United Kingdom Privacy Rights
